Samenwerkingsschool (SWS) De Vliekotter

De Vliekotter is a primary school in the heart of Oosterend on Texel, serving children aged 4-12. Originally a small village school, it has grown into a vibrant institution with a main building on Vliestraat and a temporary annex, Kraaiennest, for groups 3 and 4. The name De Vliekotter combines Vliestraat and Kotterstraat, honouring the two former schools in the village.

The school features a spacious playground with a play forest, football field, and a speelkotter—a large play structure inspired by the school’s name. Safety is prioritised with a kiss & ride zone and traffic-calming measures. As an Integral Kind Centre (IKC), it supports children from 0 to 13, fostering learning, play, and community ties.
